Bosnian Bichaq

Bosnian Bichaq www.swordsantiqueweapons.com

A very nice uncommon example of the Bosnian Bichaq.
Overall this piece measures 26cms in the scabbard and 23cms out of the scabbard. The scabbard shows signs of diagonal tooling and some raised rings around the throat. The knife displays a beautifully carved totem / eagle / owl head with facetted red gem or red glass for the eyes that offer a very striking appearance to the knife. There are also another three red gems or red glass facetted pieces along the crest of the totem's head. This area also exhibits pique inlay and brass and steel wire inlay around the hilt. Brass bolsters, a clear and crisp armourers mark and a gold symbol or inscription to the blade.
Overall a very striking and lovely knife that themselves are difficult to find in any condition.
