A very fine and rare Burmese dagger with a carved ivory hilt.

This single edged dagger measures 34cms long in the sheath.
Out of the sheath it measures just over 31cms long with a blade length of 21cms.
The hilt is carved in the likeness of Yaksha holding a Naga whose head can be seen under his left elbow. The ivory carving is very well executed and shows very fine piercings where the Naga is wound around his body.
The Ivory hilt sits atop of a silver collar that carries Burmese script possibly being a name, ward or charm.
The blade is of excellent quality that is so often the case with Burmese blades. The spine is inlayed across the top and both sides of the forte show inlayed floral designs.
There is a long false edge along the spine and a deep fuller the length of the blade, seen on both sides.
The sheath is timber bound top and bottom with silver sheet and to the middle with three remaining groups of silver wire wrapping.

A very fine and rare Burmese dagger in exceptional condition throughout.
