A fine and large Khyber knife.

This Afghanistan sword measures 80cms long in the scabbard.
Out of the scabbard it is 74cms long with a blade length of 61cms.
The hilt is of typical carved goat horn with faceted brass bolstered and grip strap.
The blade is a very fine type with a forward curving profile and slightly re-curved tip. The T-spine is very thick and the beveled cutting edge is very sharp.
The scabbard is felt over timber that has been decorated with brass fittings that display tribal motifs. A cloth wrap is attached to the upper part of the scabbard, likely to help with retaining the sword in a belt or sash.

A fine and unusual example of the type.
