A fine Kaskara
African sword

A fine Kaskara African sword www.swordsantiqueweapons.com

A fine complete example of a Sudanese Kaskara.

This sword measures 107cms long in the scabbard.
Out of the scabbard this sword measures 104cms long with a blade length of 91.5cms.
The entire sword is in excellent condition throughout with the exception of a small loss to one edge of the scabbard.
The leather covered grip and the finely woven knot show a fine patina and the blade sits firm within the grip.
The blade has triple fullers to each side with moon like stamps either side of the central fuller that face to the cutting edge.
The lower section of the blade remains unsharpened. The sharpened cutting edge starts just below the "Moon" stamps.
The tooled leather scabbard is carries aluminum throat and drag fittings and is in good solid condition with minor loss previously mentioned.

A fine example of the type.
