A good example of the 1831 pattern Officers sword.

This sabre measures 96.5cms long in the scabbard.
Out of the scabbard it measures 93cms long and carries an 89cm long blade.
The grips are ivory with gilt brass rosettes holding the slabs in place as does the lanyard hole on the pommel.
The guard is in decorative high relief, is made of brass and is also gilt.
The blade carries the makers details, Moss Bros and Co Ltd, 20-21 King street Covent garden WC. It has the brass plug proof mark to the reverse.
The etched surfaces are of a fine quality and the blade, with its long raised Yelman remains free from rust of damages.

A good example with ivory grips and a minor loss of a single rosette.
