An early pair of Chinese long fighting knives.

These early Hudiedao measure 60cms long. They have blades that are 49cms long and 10mm thick.
The hilts are of characteristic form with carved grips of what appears to be Rosewood that are capped in brass ends. These grips sit within thick bronze guards that display an unusual arrangement of incised lines to the outer surfaces.
The long blades are very robust fighting types now showing their mid 19th century age.
The blades carry the correct narrow hatchet tips and overall remain in very good condition but are stained and do carry minor pitting in places.

A good pair of Chinese fighting swords that will grade up very well with some effort.
