A fine 18th century Javanese Keris with gold kintah work to the blade.

This rare example is 46cms long in its sheath, over 45cms out and has a blade length of 36cms.
The hilt is expertly carved from a rich dark brown timber that has an almost purple hews to it in soft lighting. Its sits atop of a silver mendak of high quality that is encrusted with what appears to be old mine cut diamonds (untested).
The blade is of a 13luk construction with deep luk, gold kintak work to the base and differing pamor to each face with one presenting a sun like motif to the centre of the base that is absent from the other side.
The warangka or upper section of the sheath is perfect throughout and carved from some very well chosen burl timber. This warangka sits within a white metal pendok with a very highly detailed thick silver insert that is mercury gilded throughout.

A fine and complete 18th century Java Keris in quality dress throughout.
