A good large Moroccan Saif with Rhino horn hilt.

This North African sabre measures 102cms long overall and is without a scabbard. The blade length is 87cms long.
The classical Moroccan Saif hilt is carved from a single piece of Rhino horn and now lacks its decorative collar. The quillons, quillon block and knuckle bow is thick forged steel and without decoration.
The blade, although with wear is a very fine European type, likely from one a major guild as it carries the cresent moon face often seen on Sudanese Kaskara. To each side of the face are two groups of three decorative crosses.
The blade is triple fullered, slightly curved and ends in a sharpened back edge.

A good old fighting sword with a desirable hilt.
