A very fine and high quality African dagger, Tebu.

This rare fish tail type measure 37cms long in its sheath, 33cms out and has a blade length of 21cms.
The hilt has the characteristic iron flat iron pommel and woven leather grip.
The grip on this example is exceptionally fine.
The blade is of a fine form widening through the waist to a bulbous end that tapers to a very acute needle tip. Its surfaces are decorated in native geometric designs.
The sheath is a piece of very fine artwork. The attention to detail in the selection of leathers along with the manner in which it is crafted is a world apart from typical daggers of this type.

An exceptional example.
