A fine example of a Bugis Keris. Sumatran or Bugis Straights.

This Keris measures approx 42.5cms long in its sheath. Out it is approx 41cms long with a blade length of 33cms.
The hilt is very well carved and without loss of damage and is carved from very well selected timbers.
The bronze hilt cup is well cast and does not appear to be typical floral motifs.
The broad blade has strong features and a rather pronounced and long luk at the tip.
The sheath is in excellent condition throughout and is also carved from well chosen timbers. The butnut is missing from the base as is so very common on antique Keris.

A good and hear complete example of a Bugis Keris.
