A fine example of a late Qing military Officers sword.

This Jian measures 103cms long in its scabbard and 96cms out. Its blade length is 76cms.
The Jian's grip and scabbard are bound in sanded, dyed and polished ray skin with the grip being red in colour and the scabbard black.
The fittings are in polished brass with the guard being very thick.
The blade is absolutely razor sharp and remains in full original polish throughout. It has a block forte that carries Chinese characters to both sides and one grouping of characters being amongst bamboo foliage.

A sword type that is becoming increasingly harder to find in any condition with this type being a combat ready military Officers Jian that is rarely seen in full polish and razor sharp.
