A very good Kurdish khanjar / Jambiya.

This example measures 39.5cms long in its sheath and 37cms out. It carries a blade that is 22.5cms long. The large hilt is made from a dark brown horn. The blade is a very good quality example with what appears to be an old Sham Wootz steel pattern beneath the patina. It has a very strong needle point and a well forged medial ridge.
The blade sits within a dark brown tooled leather sheath and retains its original walrus ivory finial, a part of the sheath that is often missing on this fine old daggers.

A very good example of the type.
