A good Vietnamese Dadao with engraved blade.

This robust and heavy fighting sword is from Vietnam.
It measures 83.5cms long and has a blade length of 51cms.
It is without a scabbard at these were typically just hung with a simple sling held between the ring pommel and the pierced blade at the spine's tip.
The grip on this sword is a thick timber type that is bound with thick old hessian twine.
The guard is a simple yet effective iron disc.Br>The blade heavy blade is approx 3.5cms across at the base and broadens through to the hatchet tip which is approx 7cms across. Distal taper is evident through to the tip and the cutting edge.
The blades surfaces are engraved with native motifs throughout both sides.

A sold and functional fighting sword from the Vietnamese regions of South East Asia.
