A large and rare fighting sword from northern Thailand/Laos.

This example measures just under 92cms long with a blade 63cms long.
The hilt is a repousse bronze alloy or Samrit as known throughout the SEA, a metal that will shine a lustrous gold colour when polished.
The hilt tapers from a typical Thai sword width pommel through to a fore grip of 4cms across.
The deeply curved upswept blade is 4.5cms wide at the base and thickens to 8cms throughout the belly.

A very rare late 18th century sword with high visual impact and one which would deliver a devastating blade as it weighs in at approx 1.375kgs.
