A lovely old example of this rare style of Keris.
Overall in the sheath this piece is 42cms, out it is just under 42cms. The blade is 34cms.
The hilt is of ivory and is in the Jawa Deman style with wonderful age patina. The hilt does suffer from an old repair as seem in the images. The hilt figure is very well carved displaying clear eyes, nose and arms. Below the arms within its belly appears to be a 'lotus' flower motif and both arms show a small tatoo design on the shoulders.
The sheath is of white metal most likely low grade silver/nickel silver and is well formed with minor bruising to the lower parts.
The straight blade is a nice thick fighting blade that displays a very nice high contrast pattern steel.
Overall a good example of a very rare style of Keris that is seldom seen.
