A very nice Keris Anak Alang with a very detailed carved and pierced hilt.
The Keris Anak Alang is found within areas of Sumatra and the Malaysian Peninsular.
This example is 53cms in the scabbard, just under 50cms out with a blade of 40cms.
The hilt is extremely well carved. The horn shows long, tight consistant fibres running the length as seen in the images. It shows great detail with peircings and some light age rubbing to the rear. The hilt wears a simple silver Mendak.
The scabbard shows a old native repair to the neck where two sections of ivory seem to have been added for support, this is then finished with a simple silver band.
The blade has a thick well shaped base with nice lines and proportions. There are long clear folding lines along the length of the blade and the tip is full. The blade is slightly wider to the middle with a nice curve to the tip.
A nice well presented Keris with a very fine hilt.
