A very nice complete 19th century Indian sabre.
This rare example measures 85cms in the scabbard, just under 84cms out with a blade length just under 72cms.
The hilt and scabbard fittings are a heavy gilded bronze.
The hilt is a very finely detailed example with floral motifs to all surfaces and the pommel being a horses head with bridle.
The scabbard fittings are pierced floral designs with a single suspension point to the throat.
The blade is of a very fine wootz pattern but does carry light pitting and staining to parts of the surface and would benefit from professional attention to shows its true beauty.
The spine of the blade carries a raised yelman 23cms long.
A very rare and fine sword in complete condition.
