A fine and rare little known train Bataillon sabre, Hannov number 10.
This sabre is just under 99cms in the steel scabbard.
Out it is 94cms long with an 81cms blade.
The standard m1852 basket hilt is in very good condition. It retains the original leather finger loop and all of the shark skin binding. The felt spacer between the hilt and blade is also present.
The blade is in excellent condition throughout and remains in original bright polish. The spine and both faces of the blade display detailed floral wreaths, an eagle holding a shield, a breast plate with lances and pennons, a Pickelhaube, trumpet and sword and also a horse head.
The scabbard is free from dents or losses but appears to have been retouched in black at some stage of its life.
A fine and rare Hannoverischen, Hanoverian, officers presentation sword in excellent condition throughout.
