A fine and study Spanish fighting knife.

Open this broad bladed example measures 38cms long with a blade length over 17cms. Closed it measures 21cms.
The blade is finely formed with a very deep clipped tip and file work to the top edge. The blade is 4cms wide at the widest point.
The grip slabs are horn and free from loss or damage. The tail is faceted and decorative brass with a clam shell like finial.
The back spring is very tight and has a large ring pull for release from the ratchet lock.
The blade pivot pin and the pin holding the back strap between the grip slabs are both finished with silver coins dated 1852.

A very good 19th century fighting knife Navaja.
