A very good Afghan Khyber knife, short sword.

Sheathed this fine Afghani sword measures 73cms. Out of the sheath it is 72cms long with a blade length just under 59cms.
The hilt is constructed of carved horn grip slabs, now with minor insect wear. The grip strap is silver as are the bolsters and lanyard ring to the pommel.
The blade is a very sharp, carries a full needle point and a thick T spine all the way through to the tip. Beneath the T spine is a single fuller also running the entire length of the blade. The blade shows very clear wootz patterns in places and would likely grade up with a professional polish.
The sheath is timber covered in a thick brown leather. The fittings are silver as is the thick suspension ring. The throat and drag are decorated in floral designs. The sheath also retains its original belt suspension.

A very good and very heavy fighting sword from the Afghanistan regions of Central Asian.
