A fine Mindanao Betel nut caddy.
Measuring 17cms across, 9cms tall and 8cms deep.
The box is very well crafted in thick and heavy bronze which is inlayed to all external surfaces with silver sheet.
The hinged lid reveals three compartments covered in four inlayed lids.
The central lids are a single double sized compartment likely for the Betel nut. The left side shows the remains of lime powder and the right likely held other leaves or beans used in the ritual process of Betel nut chewing.
A very interesting and detailed canister that would compliment and Moro collection.
