A Good Pia Kaetta 18th century Sri Lanka www.swordsantiqueweapons.com

A good small Pia Kaetta.

This small example is 32cms long in the sheath and 24cms out. The blade length is 18cms when including the decorative bolster.
The hilt appears to be carved turtle shell with a decorative metal pommel cap.
The blade sits within a decorative metal bolster. It has small decorative Koftgari panels to each side, carries a sharp edge and is darkened with age.
The sheath appears to be ebony and shows small signs of repair. It is bound by a white metal strap at the throat.

A good well priced example, complete with sheath.
