A fine Bowie knife
Silver cutlery hilted type

A fine Bowie knife Silver cutlery hilted type www.swordsantiqueweapons.com

A good silver hilted Bowie by J E Middleton and sons, Rockingham st Sheffield England.

This Bowie knife is just over 33cms in the sheath, just under 32cms out and has a blade length of 19cms.
This Bowie knife is likely from the early 1900's through to the 1930's.
The Silver cutlery hilt and oval silver guard is typical of the era.
The blade shows a very fine peppered surface that appears to have been plated or varnished. If plated the covering is very light as there is very little loss of crispness to the shape or cutting edge.
The leather sheath is a later addition, perhaps contemporary to the time of refurbishment.

A fine Bowie knife of good proportions in very good condition.
