A very fine and old ivory hilted African Dagger from the Congo.

This rare dagger is referred to by Zirngibl as battle daggers.
This example measures 30cms long in the sheath, just over 26cms out of the sheath and has a fine blade 19cms long and 5cms wide.
The Elephant ivory hilt shows a very fine worn and warm glossy patina to is surfaces and clear Lines of Retzius (engine turning line) to the pommel.
The blade is expertly formed, hollow forged and has fine cutting edges.
The dagger comes with a old fitted, tooled leather sheath.
