A rare pair of 16th century Ottoman Empire, Turkish "Krug" breast plates.
Of standard circular form with central boss surrounded by radiating sun burst flutes. Armourers mark from the armoury of St. Irene in Constantinople. Together with associated smaller shaped plates linked by chain mail.
