A very fine and unusual African war club, knobkerrie.

This lovely old example measures 69cms long with the shaft being 61.5cms.
The shaft has a slightly flared end for grip and a forward cant approx 8cms below the head. The large head is also slightly offset forward to enable a very effective blow.
Both the head and the shaft are a fine two toned timber with the carved head having five spiral flutes running from the shaft to the crown of the ball head.

A very fine example of a Zulu knobkerrie with a fine all over warm patina.
