A very good example of a fighting spear from the Congo regions, Ngbandi.

This spear measures 139cms long.
The spearhead measures 44cms long including the socket with the tip being 13cms long and 4cms wide.
The fine timber shaft shows incised lines running the entire length. The base ends in a thick long bulbous shape and is bound with iron at the butt. Along the rest of the shaft are various types of steel and copper wrapping. There is also a faceted section of timber 40cms from the base.
