A fine and rare House of Savoy Italian court sword.

This fine epee or small sword measures 99cms long in the scabbard.
Out it is 96cms long with a blade length of 83cms.
The hilt is highly decorated gilt brass in a neo classical style showing a figural pommel, quatrefoil designs, lion mask and various wreath like designs. The oval "clam shell" guard carries the House of Savoy crest with the cross being a silver fitting.
The grips are mother of pearl with the front slab fluted and the rear plain, a possible later replacement.
The fine blade is double edged with a short single fuller to both sides and etched, frosted grey panels with floral designs to the lower third of the blade, very small blemishes.
The leather scabbard is free from breaks or loss.
The scabbard retains is upper and lower fittings with the upper fittings engraved with a maker's or proprietor's name.
