A very nice high quality antique dagger with good provenance.

Attached to this piece is a collector's/presentation tag from June 1910 stating the previous owners details and noting the piece as a Russian Dagger. The previous owner prior to 1910 was a Professor, other details to be noted upon sale to the new custodian.
34cms overall with a stunning hollow ground blade 24cms long including the bolster. The blade drops subtlely forward whilst the hilt curves downward towards the eared pommel.
The blade shows wonderful flowing ribbon patterns through the steel and is in excellent condition. The hilt wears walrus ivory hilt slabs, each pinned in 4 places with iron pins.
Delicate and detailed gold koftgari flowers and vines decorate the bolsters and traces of gold are found on the top rear and userside of the spine.
Extremely well crafted with a balance point at the bolster.
