Vietnamese sword,
long handled Dadao

A nice old Dadao with original hilt wrappings, most likely Vietnam in origin.
This nice old fighter measures 86cms from tip to tip, the ring pommel hilt measures 41cms and the blade a little over 45cms.
With the hilt and blade being an almost 50/50 split, the long hilt enables great control over the blade. The woven red fabric bindings to the hilt appear to be original. They show age wear but remain in very healthy condition.
The guard is a small and simple cast bronze block.
The upward sweeping blade also remains in good condition.
Overall a nice original untouched example of good proportions.
