African, Hutu Sickle sword

A nice example of a seldom seem sickle sword or "axe" from the Hutu tribes in Africa
This unusual weapon measures 68cms long with the handle being 14cms. The handle is nicely shaped with iron and copper spiral bound wrappings to support the weight of the shaft and head.
The 36cm long forged hexagonal shaft is topped with a unique "sickle" style head of approx 20cms in length.
A very well made traditional weapon from the central African Hutu tribes.
