A very rare Karo Batak sword

This attractive piece measures 46cms long sheathed, just under 44cms out with a blade length of 32cms.
The hilt is a very rare all brass type with a silver collar.
The stem ring has nine 'petals' and leads towards a very fine stout blade that appears to have a very good watered steel patterning beneath the patina.
The sheath is silver bound timber with losses of several silver bands. The throat is very unusual in the carving and the applied silver and copper 'eye'.
The sheath does show repairs with glue residue at the throat and between the timber sheath pieces towards the tip.

A very fine and rare example that will grade up well with little effort.
