A very fine and early Madu buckler.

This fine Indian parrying shield is constructed from a pair of blackbuck antlers tipped with iron arrow like spikes. Attached to the horns is a small iron shield with four decorative brass bosses.
The shield face is 15cms across, each antler is 42cms long. The iron tips are 8cms and the overall length tip to tip is 70cms.
The iron shield and brass bosses all show a very fine old age patina, the antlers show a smooth deep rich patina.

A fine and very seldom seem shield and weapon combination of good quality and construction.
