A very nice old and heavy Jambiya sized Shafra shaped dagger.

This fine old example measures 32cms long with a blade length of 20cms.
The hilt is horn with decorative silver embellishments.
The blade is a very thick and sturdy forged example with a high tapering medial ridge typically seen on Jambiya.
This knife style or shape is typically known as Shafra or Kusha and referred to as "khadaam" or "servant". However, being jambiya sized it is not a Khadaam and cannot be mounted behind a Jambiya as the slim relatives are.
An unusual Jambiya type found throughout the Arabian peninsula in varying shapes and styles.

Antique Jambiya sized Shafra are very seldom seen.

A very rare example with minor losses.
